The Price was Right

The Price was Right

David Price was dealing in last night’s game against the Yankees

David Price was absolutely phenomenal last night.  In my opinion, last night was his best pitching performance he’s had since he has been with the Sox.  His time in Boston hasn’t been what fans thought it would be, but he has time to turn it around.

Price shut the Yankees out last night.  That makes the first game on the year for the Yankees that they have been shutout.  Price gave up zero walks and zero home runs last night.  Also, fanning 8 batters.  Price gave up 7 hits, but allowed zero runs. The Sox had 8 hits total last night and scored 3 runs. Which means the Yankees had plenty opportunities to score, but just couldn’t capitalize.

If we can get this from Price consistently throughout the second half, we will be in great shape.  He just needs to stay focused on pitching and not worry about what the media says about him. Which has been hard for Price to do this season.

Last night’s win makes the Red Sox three games above the Tampa Bay Rays. We open up a series with the Blue Jays tonight.  With Eduardo Rodriguez making his first start off the DL tonight, let’s hope we can get the win.
