In 1975, the Cincinnati Reds beat the Red Sox in a dramatic seven-game series which is still considered by many to be one of the greatest World Series ever to be played.

While this won’t be as entertaining as the ’75 series, it should be an entertaining series nevertheless.  After completing their series with Baltimore and a day off on Thursday 9/21/17, they head to Cincinnati to begin a three game interleague series.

These Cincinnati Reds are not even a shell of the Big Red Machine of the Pete Rose days and the Red Sox must capitalize on that. Since the rival New York Yankees finish the season with six games against Toronto, three against Tampa Bay, and one against the Royals – it is imperative that the Sox take advantage of great matchups.

Coming off of a sweep of the Orioles, the Red Sox should not be satisfied with anything other than a sweep in Ohio.

The pitching matchups for that series are as follows;

Friday 9/22: Rick Porcello (10-17) vs Sal Romano (5-6)

Saturday 9/23:  Eduardo Rodriguez (5-6) vs Robert Stephenson (5-5)

Sunday: 9/24: Doug Fister (5-8) vs Jackson Stephens (2-0)
