The Boston Red Sox are AL East champions

The Boston Red Sox are AL East Champions.  It has been a stressful week for Sox fans.  Some fans were worried that we would blow our division lead and end up playing in the Wild Card game.  But, today the Sox clinched the AL East.

Drew Pomeranz had a great outing today.  He went 6 innings and only allowed 6 hits and 1 run.  This was a great way for Drew to end the regular season.  Let’s hope he can take this type of pitching into the playoffs.

David Price came out of the bullpen in the 7th inning and did his job. Let’s hope Price keeps this up.

The Red Sox will now play the Astros in Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Thursday.  The postseason roster and the pitching rotation still have to be figured out, but the Sox are in the ALDS.

I think it is safe to say this isn’t all Sox fans want.  We want more.  Not just AL East Champs.  Let’s hope the Sox can pick up the win tomorrow and carry some momentum into the ALDS.
