With John Farrell’s dismissal as manager of the Red Sox, the search for a new manager will begin immediately. The names of Brad Ausmus, Alex Cora, and Ron Gardenhire have already surfaced.

If Dave Dombrowski is looking for experience, he should look no further than Ron Gardenhire. Gardenhire, currently the bench coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks under Torey Lovullo, would be an excellent choice.

When Kelly stepped down as manager in 2002, Gardenhire took, over leading the Twins to multiple AL Central Division titles. He won six division title throughout his tenure in Minnesota, before being dismissed in 2014.

As manager of the Twins, he was respected by the players he managed, as well as his peers. If Dombrowski is wanting to go outside the organization for an experienced leader, he couldn’t do any better than Gardenhire.
