Report: Alex Cora to be named new Red Sox manager after Astros season is done

There were a few rumors earlier today about the Washington Nationals possibly wanting to interview Alex Cora after firing manager, Dusty Baker.  According to Ken Rosenthal, that is not true.

Earlier in the week, there was a report from Las Mayores that said that Alex Cora will be the new manager of the Boston Red Sox once the Astros were finished with the ALCS.  Shortly after this was reported, several other reports came out that the report was not true and Dave Dombrowski still hadn’t made a decision yet.

Now that Ken Rosenthal has reported that Alex Cora will be named the next manager of the Red Sox, it looks like it is a done deal.  I think this is a very smart move of the Red Sox to hire Cora.  Cora,  I think, will be able to keep the clubhouse together and be a good mentor for the players.

All we can do now is just wait and see.  I would say that it is a done deal and that Alex Cora will be coming to Boston.  I think I can speak for all of Red Sox Nation when I say we will be thrilled to have him.
