While many teams have made moves to improve their team’s respective rosters, the Red Sox have yet to make any significant deals.

After the Yankees struck a deal for Giancarlo Stanton, fans are craving for Dombrowski to counter.

Dombrowski said last night, while appearing on MLB Network, that he would like to have already have made his moves to improve the roster.

One of the reasons for the slow-moving free-agency is due to agent Scott Boras who is the agent for two of the Red Sox perceived targets: JD Martinez and Eric Hosmer.

Boras is known for being a shark and will certainly get top dollar for his clients.

It was reported last night that the Red Sox were meeting with Martinez once he had arrived in Orlando and potentially they may have made an offer to him.

In regards to the pursuit of JD Martinez:

The Red Sox are continuing to progress with talking with other player’s agents / representatives as well.

The Winter Meetings wrap up tomorrow afternoon and it would be surprising if Dombrowski leaves empty handed, but again it all depends on Boras’ negotiations.

The aggressive Dombrowski will look to act quickly, but with multiple clients, Scott Boras will be sure to get top money for both Eric Hosmer and JD Martinez.

Red Sox fans want the moves to happen quickly, but they’ll only move as fast as Scott Boras allows.
