There’s been a whirlwind of activity so far this week, which is every baseball fan’s dream. It’s been mostly quiet on the Sox front, but keep in mind, Dave Dombrowski is known for his huge off season acquisitions.
Here’s what we know so far, concerning the Red Sox targets:
•Giancarlo Stanton and Marcel Ozuna are off the board, and it doesn’t sound like the Sox were major players for either stud slugger.
•Eric Hosmer is being heavily courted by San Diego. It’ll be interesting to see if they move Will Myers should Hosmer end up a Padre.

•Christian Yelich, the only remaining Marlin outfielder, is being shopped and will most likely be moved soon.
•Dave kicked the tires on Khris Davis, and with Oakland just now acquiring Stephen Piscotty, Davis is almost certainly leaving the A’s organization this offseason.
•Jon Heyman reported that the Sox and Jays are in on Eduardo Nunez, with the Yankees sniffing around; perhaps they’re not as comfortable starting the season with Gleybar Torres as their primary second baseman as we thought.
•The Sox have expressed interest in quite a few free agent first baseman, namely Carlos Santana, Mark Reynolds, and 1B/3B Todd Frazier.
•Starting pitching doesn’t appear to be at the top of the list, but a few relievers have been linked to Boston. Unfortunately, you can cross most of the top relievers off the board: Mike Minor, Jake McGee, Bryan Shaw, Brandon Morrow, Tommy Hunter, Juan Nicasio, Pat Neshek and quite a few more have already found homes.
•Finally, it appears the Boston front office is all in on J.D. Martinez, and Dave reportedly met with him Tuesday night.
Without coming right out and saying it, Dombrowski confirmed he met with JD Martinez last night.

Stay tuned for updates, as Scott Boras arrived to the meetings yesterday, and will surely be pushing the right buttons to get his clients where they need to go.
