Game 2 Recap: David Price Revenge Tour is Looking Good

Finally. The Red Sox were able to pick up a win last night beating the Rays 1-0. It wasn’t much of an exciting game on the offensive end, but a win is a win.

David Price looked fantastic last night. He looked like 2015 David Price. Price threw 7 scoreless innings, keeping his pitch count at only 79 pitches. I was really expecting him to go out for the eighth inning but Alex Cora had other plans. Price ended the night with five strikeouts, no walks and allowing four hits.

In my 2018 Red Sox Prediction blog that I wrote last week, I said that David Price would have a monster season and prove himself to Red Sox Nation. If he can keep doing what he did tonight throughout the season, I think it’s safe to say Red Sox fans will be pretty happy.

Rafael Devers drove in the only run for the team tonight in the seventh inning to break the tie. Devers drove in Xander Bogaerts after Bogaerts doubled.

Xander Bogaerts is off to a great start so far. Bogey already has 4 doubles. He doubled twice yesterday and twice today. Maybe he can keep the trend going and double twice tomorrow!

Craig Kimbrel finished the game off for the Sox tonight striking out three batters in the ninth. He looked really good. It’s always nice to see this:

Other than that, there’s really not a whole lot else to say. The Red Sox play the Rays again tomorrow at 6:10 PM ET. Pretty Ricky is on the mound and I’m hoping he can do what Sale and Price have done so far.

Final Score: Red Sox 1, Rays 0
