The Red Sox Spring Training darling heads to the 10 Day disabled list.

The Red Sox announced that lefty reliever, Bobby Poyner, would be placed on the 10 Day DL with a hamstring strain.

Poyner had posted a 1-0 record with a 2.57 ERA in 7 innings in Boston. The injury occurred during Wednesday night’s game against the Yankees, though it wasn’t disclosed how.

In a retroactive move, the Red Sox have recalled Marcus Walden from AAA Pawtucket. Walden made the Opening Day roster, but was sent down when Eduardo Rodriguez was activated from the DL.

The void will leave Brian Johnson to handle the lefty-on-lefty matchups out of the bullpen.
