This was a really good day for this team.  The Red Sox picked up another win.  Eduardo Rodriguez was spectacular.  The offense is continuing to stay pretty hot.  This team is just clicking right now and it is a great time to be a Red Sox fan. The only bad news is that Brock Holt cut his hair ending “Flow Bros”.

Eduardo Rodriguez had a pretty shaky start in his first game back from the disabled list last week.  He was alright, but wasn’t what we expect out of him.  Last night, Rodriguez gave us what we need from him all season long.  He took control and was really confident.  These are both really encouraging signs.

The Red Sox lefty ended the night with eight strikeouts and only two walks.  He only allowed one run and was able to hold the Orioles to five hits.  The starting rotation continues to roll.

One big factor that has played in the starting rotation’s success is the run support they are getting.  The Red Sox offense have backed their pitchers in most games this season.  There were several times last year that the offense couldn’t help the pitchers out when they needed it.  But, the offense, so far, has been great.  In the last six games, the team has scored 52 runs.

The Red Sox offense was able to jump out early and take the lead last night.  After a walk and a single, J.D. Martinez knocked in an RBI to tie the game.  Eduardo Nunez then hit a three-run homer to give the Sox a 4-1 lead.  The Red Sox pretty much sat with this lead the rest of the night.

The bullpen was a little shaky tonight, but it is pretty early so we don’t have to panic about the bullpen (yet).  Nothing much really happened after the first few innings.  It was a good win for this team.  They look to carry the momentum to tomorrow’s day game against the Orioles.  First pitch is at 1:05 PM ET and Hector Velazquez will be on the mound for the Red Sox.
