The Red Sox winning streak ends in Oakland.

As the saying goes, all must good things must come to an end. On Saturday night, it was done in an emphatic way.

Sean Manaea delivered a no hitter against the high powered Boston Red Sox lineup. It was the first no hitter thrown against the Sox in 25 years.

The Red Sox have been nearly unbeatable to begin the season; however it was the Oakland Athletics that halted a long winning streak. The loss drops the Sox to 17-3 on the season.

Manaea of the A’s proved to be dominant on the mound. The lefty struck out 10 during his historic outing.

For the Red Sox, Chris Sale suffered his first loss of the season. The Cy Young candidate didn’t have his best stuff on Saturday night; however the loss should not be too concerning for Sox fans.

Despite the Sox offense being extremely hot, the bats couldn’t get going against a solid opponent.

What’s Next?

The Red Sox will wrap up the West Coast road trip with a 4:05 start. David Price will take the mound against Daniel Mengden.

Final Score:

Red Sox: 0

Athletics: 3
