4/24 Pitchers vs Hitters Matchups – Toronto Bound

Coming off of their first series loss in 2018, they are off to Toronto for which should be a good AL East series matchup. Even with losses in last 2 games, their .810 winning % ranks 1st overall in baseball. The pitching staff’s ERA is 4th overall with 2.75. For runs scored, are now 2nd, thanks to the Yankees 14 run attack against the Twins last night.

Shades of 2016, Porcello is a perfect 4-0 with an ERA of 1.40. That ERA puts him 5th best in the AL, and 8th overall in MLB. The confidence is oh so present and it’s showing. This time last yr, he had given up 6 HRs in first 5 starts… so far through 4 starts, the number stands at Zero.

J.A. Happ takes the ball for Toronto, Blue Jays fans should be pumped for a couple of things. (1) He rarely has a bad game when facing the Sox….. (2) His batters really love him so far this season. In his first 4 starts, the offense has scored 37 Runs. Two of the starts, scoring 14 & 15 runs. Porcello has got himself the test tonight.
