4/26 Pitchers vs Hitters Matchups – Rubber Match in Toronto

It’s Sale Day!!

Fresh off a win, that ended a 3 game slide, the Sox look to cap off the series with a rubber match victory. It was nothing but the Mookie Betts show, clearly ready for another go at MVP consideration.

Fellow Sox teammate Chris Sale is also looking for a shiny mantelpiece accessory, starting his 6th start to the season. Through 6 starts, his W-L record is just 1-1… shades of last season, where the offense just doesn’t show up for the most part. He is currently tied for 3rd most Ks in the AL, and tied for 8th in the AL with a sparkling ERA of 1.86.

Marco Estrada takes the ball for Toronto, who now for the 2nd straight season is looking like the same pitcher we last saw in 2016. From 2012-2016, four times in 5 seasons he posted ERAs of 3.87 or lower. Last year he stumbled to an ERA of 4.98. He’s coming off of 2 shaky starts vs the Orioles & Yankees, giving up 9 ER in 9 innings.
