While the New York Yankees squandered a 10-5 lead over the Texas Rangers, the Red Sox offense sealed a victory with a three-run 9th inning. They now stand at 34-15, riding a 4 game winning streak. Their road record on the season (19-8) leads all of MLB. The 2nd best road record belongs to the Colorado Rockies. Quite a head turner, that the Rockies have been better on the road than their beloved hitters ballpark. The Red Sox will be going for the sweep, right before they face the NL East leading Atlanta Braves.

Rick Porcello is on the mound for the Red Sox, and is coming off of a much need bounce back victory against the Orioles. If he pitches the way he’s capable of, the Rays batters will be really glad to see the Red Sox get out of town. That after being manhandled by Sale, Price, Porcello in 3 straight games. It’s May 24th and this will already be Porcello’s fourth start of the season facing the Rays!!

3 starts (2-0, 3.10 ERA) – 20.1 innings, 19 Hits, 7 Runs, 1 HR, 1 Walk, 17 Ks

Blake Snell takes the ball for the Rays. The 25 year old southpaw has thus far been having the best season in his young career. In his 3rd season he has posted his lowest ERA (3.07), lowest WHIP (1.04), and lowest opp avg (.199). Only downside you could say is that he is on pace to give up the most home runs he’s had in a season – right now at 8 allowed in 10 starts. Last season he gave up 15 in 24 starts. Snell has pitched 2 solid starts versus the Red Sox this season, going 1-0 with an ERA of just 1.38.
