A look at the upcoming four-game series against the Houston Astros

This will be the first time the Red Sox will play since last year’s playoff loss against the Astros.  It is safe to say that the team will be looking for revenge.

Opponent Record

35-22

Head-to-Head Record

0-0

Performance

The Astros are a really good team.  They have a very deep roster and have a great starting rotation.  But, the Astros have been struggling a little lately.  They just finished a road trip where they traveled to Cleveland then New York.  The team ended the road trip 3-4.  That’s not a bad record, but it is certainly not what the Astros want.

Pitching Matchups

5/31: Drew Pomeranz vs. Lance McCullers, 8:10 PM ET

6/1: Chris Sale vs. Gerrit Cole, 8:10 PM ET

6/2: David Price vs. Justin Verlander, 7:10 PM ET

6/3: Rick Porcello vs. Charlie Morton, 7:30 PM ET

Things to Watch

  • Will Mookie Betts return this series?
  • Will Drew Pomeranz give the Red Sox a decent start?
  • Will Mitch Moreland and J.D. Martinez keep their hot streaks going?

This will be a fun series to watch.  Hopefully, the Red Sox will be able to pick up a series win.
