Game Recap: Red Sox Bats Get Going and Win Their Fourth Straight

Another great day if you’re a Red Sox fan

Make that four straight wins and another series win for the Red Sox.  Last night was just a really good team win.  So far this series, the Red Sox have just beat up on the opposing pitcher.  Let’s hope they can keep it up.

They currently have the best record in baseball at 43-19.  I saw this tweet this morning that really impressed me:

Eduardo Rodriguez had a pretty good start last night.  He finished the night after 5 2/3 innings allowing one run on five hits, striking out five and walking one.  Ever since Rodriguez’s back-to-back starts a couple weeks ago where he gave up a ton of runs to last place teams, he has turned it around.  He is becoming one of the better pitchers in this rotation.

Andrew Benintendi stayed hot in this game.  In last night’s game, Benintendi joined the double-digit home run club in the fifth inning.  After starting the season in a slump, Benintendi has turned it around and has been hitting the ball really well.  Especially in Fenway Park.

Xander Bogaerts also had a monster night in last night’s game.  Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with a double, and a pair of singles.  He also drove in 2 RBI.  Christian Vazquez also hit his second shot of the season last night.  Vazquez had a pretty solid night too.

Tonight, the Red Sox will play in the series finale against the Tigers on ESPN.  In this one, Jalen Beeks will be making his major league debut.  Beeks is a stud.  In 56.1 innings this season in Pawtucket, he has 80 strikeouts.  I am pumped to see him make his first start in the majors.  The Tigers will be throwing Matt Boyd who the Red Sox should be able to beat up on.  First pitch is at 7:10 PM ET.

Final Score: Red Sox 7, Tigers 1
