The 48-22 Red Sox continue their series in Seattle, and riding a 4 game winning streak. The Red Sox, Yankees, Astros and Mariners are the only teams in baseball to have 44 or more wins. Last night’s game had such a playoff feel. Price is looking like the pitcher the Sox gave a $210 million contract to. And in a tied game, Xander Bogaerts hits a solo HR that ended up winning the game. Kimbrel closed the door, albeit with some tension as he walked 2 batters. Last yr he walked just 14 batters in 69 innings. He has thus far walked 11 in 30 innings pitched in 2018.

Rick Porcello takes the mound for the Sox, coming off of a tough luck loss where he gave up 2 ER in 6 innings. In his last 3 starts, Porcello has given up 2 ER apiece in all of them. Pitching deep into games has been key for him. Only 3 times in 14 starts, he has pitched less than 6 innings. Porcello faced the Mariners last season. In that 1 start, he took the loss despite giving up just 2 ER in 6.1 innings. Although he was Houdini in that game, giving up 11 Hits and 1 walk.

James Paxton takes the ball for the Mariners, one of the reasons why the Mariners are having a push for the AL West with the Astros. Through 14 starts, he is 6-1 with a 3.02 ERA. The 29 year old lefty debuted in 2013, but this season might be the first team he eclipses the 25 start mark. He has had his way against right handed batters (.170 avg, .511 ops), however lefties are hitting him at a .339 clip with a 1.002 ops.
