A look at the upcoming three-game set against the New York Yankees.
The Yankees are coming off a series win, but before that they were swept by the Rays. The Red Sox will look to carry momentum from their series sweep against the Angels. The Yankees aren’t playing their best baseball of the season, but they are a good team, so I expect them to be ready for this series against the Red Sox.
6/29: Eduardo Rodriguez vs. C.C. Sabathia, 7:05 PM ET
6/30: Chris Sale vs. Sonny Gray, 7:15 PM ET
7/1: David Price vs. Luis Severino, 8:10 PM ET
In my opinion, the biggest matchup of the series is Sunday’s. All eyes will be on David Price. Although Price has had a great season, he still has to prove himself and pitch well in a big game. If Price can have a good start, that would be HUGE.
I’m ready for this series. The key to winning the division is to win head-to-head games. If the Red Sox can get a series win this weekend, it would be huge. Let’s go.
Tonight will be the first time the Red Sox and Yankees will meet this late into a season (either by games or calendar date) in which each team has a winning percentage of .650 or better (via @EliasSports) pic.twitter.com/QPNcUTesNf
