The Red Sox acquire Steve Pearce from the Blue Jays

Looking at the Red Sox’s latest move.

Shorty after the Red Sox swept the Angels last night, the team announced a move.  The Red Sox sent minor league infielder Santiago Espinal in exchange for Steve Pearce and cash considerations.

We knew that the Red Sox were looking to add some right-handed hitting depth at the deadline.  They did that by adding Pearce to the team.  This season Pearce has played in 26 games and has an average of .291 with 4 home runs and 4 home runs.

I like this move.  Pearce can hit lefties well and that is what we are in need of.  Alex Cora says the same thing.  Pearce will be starting tonight at first base.
