A short preview of the three-game set against the Kansas City Royals.

Opponent Record

25-61

Head-to-Head Record

2-1

Performance

The Royals have been awful this season.  They are one of the worst teams in baseball this year.  In their last 21 games, the Royals have lost 18.  This should be an relatively easy series for the Red Sox.  The Red Sox SHOULD leave Kansas with a record of 62-29 and their position in the division the same.

Pitching Matchups

7/6: Chris Sale vs. Jason Hammel, 8:15 PM ET

7/7: David Price vs. Brad Keller, 7:15 PM ET

7/8: Rick Porcello vs. Jakob Junis, 2:15 PM ET

The matchup that I will be looking at the most is David Price’s start.  As every Red Sox fan knows, Price got absolutely shelled in his last start against the Yankees.  He has a lot to prove know after that start.  I know that he has had a really good season besides that start, but that one probably the biggest game of the regular season and he just choked.  You can’t have that from one of your top starters.

If the Red Sox don’t win three games this weekend, I will be disappointed.  This could be an opportunity to separate themselves from the Yankees in the division.  We will see what happens.

Also, happy birthday to Benny!
