An update on Dustin Pedroia’s knee injury.
It looks like Dustin Pedroia won’t be returning to the field anytime soon. Alex Cora announced in his press conference before the game on Tuesday that Pedroia will head to Arizona to continue his rehab for his knee.

Dustin Pedroia is heading back to Arizona to rehab. There won’t be baseball activity nor is there any timetable for a return. Alex Cora said he still expects him back this year though.

Pedroia has been getting tests done in New York this past week. His made some adjustments to his rehab and decided it was best if he went back to Arizona to continue his rehab process there.
Alex Cora said in his press conference that he does expect Pedroia to return this season, but he went on to say that there is no timetable for his return. He says that the Red Sox will just take it day-to-day and see how it goes from there.
With the Red Sox playing as well as they are right now, there is no point to rush Pedroia back. I think part of the problem to begin with is he rushed back and wasn’t ready. That’s just Pedroia’s personality though. He lives and breathes baseball. You know he wants to be back on the field with the team as quick as he can. But, he needs to realize if he rushes back, he could injure it again which could cause him to be out for a longer period of time. Just take it slow and make sure you are 100%.
