Another catcher goes down.
With Christian Vazquez already on the disabled list, the Red Sox have placed another catcher on the DL. The Red Sox have sent Blake Swihart to the 10-day disabled list with a hamstring injury.
Red Sox place Blake Swihart on DL. Dan Butler up in his place. Butler is here today but likely won’t start against Yankees this weekend.

Just as Swihart was starting to heat up, he gets sent to the DL. This isn’t great, but it doesn’t appear that the injury is serious. The team says that they don’t expect him to be on the DL for long. Sandy Leon is expected to play a lot more in the next ten days.
Cody and I talked about Blake on the last podcast. We both agreed that he has earned more playing time and has been really solid lately. Hopefully the catcher will be back soon and will continue to play well.
