The Rays got off to a fast 3-0 in the 1st inning last night, but that was all the damage they could muster. The Sox pitching settled down from that point forward, and the Sox offense and scored 7 runs. Ryan Brasier continues to make a name himself in this Sox bullpen, now up to six consecutive scoreless outings. No one could’ve predicted that he would be a key arm to rely on for the 2018 postseason run. The Yankees beat the Blue Jays, so the lead stayed at 10.5 games but Magic Number is now sitting at 30.

David Price takes the mound for the Sox, looking for his 13th Win of the season. Price along with teammate Sale has been off & rolling, now up to five straight quality starts. The more of this we see the better, as the postseason is over 6 weeks away.

(3-0, 1.64 ERA)

33 innings, 27 Hits, 6 Runs, 2 HRs, 5 Walks, 33 Ks

Price has faced his old team 4 starts this season. His record is 1-1 against them, but that still comes with a sparkling ERA of 2.10.

Tyler Glasnow takes the ball for the Rays. A part of the rich group of players Tampa got in return for Chris Archer. While he’s yet to fully live up to his potential in the bigs, the soon to be 25 year old righty has so much talent in that arm of his. The Rays organization is the right fit for him to go to and blossom. Up until being acquired, the Pirates were using him strictly as a reliever. He is now back in the role of a starter, and has allowed just 3 ER in 12 innings in a Rays uniform.

David Price — Career vs Tampa Bay Rays in 13 games (12 starts), 4-4 with a 3.32 ERA. Career at Fenway Park in 45 games (42 starts), 22-7 with a 3.16 ERA.
