Breaking: Mookie Betts wins AL MVP

By no surprise, Mookie Betts has won the 2018 American League Most Valuable Player Award.

Mookie Betts is the first Red Sox player since Dustin Pedroia in 2008 to win the award and the eleventh to win it in franchise history.

Betts finished the season off with a .346/.438/.640 slash line. He led the league in WAR among position players, batting average, slugging percentage, extra-base hits and runs created.

To say Mookie Betts had a monster season is an understatement. The Red Sox need to avoid arbitration with Betts and reach an extension with him this off-season. The team needs to do everything in their power to keep Mookie. He deserves a new contract and I don’t think anyone in Red Sox Nation would be mad about signing him to a big contract. I want to see Mookie Betts in a Red Sox uniform for his whole career.

Gear up on Red Sox apparel this off-season!
