Still 159 games to go in the regular season, the current 1-2 Sox look to salvage a split of their four game series in Seattle. After this, they’ll be traveling South to square off vs the Oakland Athletic. Ricky Raindrops Porcello takes the mound, looking to right the ship of the Sox starters who haven’t been able to get out of their own way.

(0-2, 13.39 ERA)

12.1 innings, 22 Hits, 19 Runs (18 ER), 7 HRs, 7 Walks, 12 Ks

Luckily the deemed weakness of the team, the bullpen has been solid these last two games.

7.2 innings, 0 Runs, 2 Hits, 3 Walks, 12 Ks

Since Brian Johnson pitched the 8th inning of the opener, the bullpen has fired off 8.2 consecutive scoreless innings. The always reliable Porcello, his manager Cora is leaning on him to give the team some much needed innings out of today’s start.

Wade LeBlance takes the ball for the Mariners. The 34 year old lefty is making his first start of the 2019 campaign. Last season, he posted a decent 3.72 ERA in 32 games (27 starts). A downside for him however was that he matched his career high in HRs given up in a season, that being 24 overall (last done as a Padre in 2010).

Andrew Benintendi is out of today’s game for precautionary reasons, after fouling a ball off of his right knee during yesterday’s game. JD Martinez goes to the field, and Sam Travis gets a start at DH.
