The Red Sox are enjoying their first good winning stretch of the 2019 season. Just like that, they have gone 8-4 in their last 12 games. The Sox offense has been rolling, scoring 64 runs (5.3 runs/game) in that stretch. And ever since the first two dreaded weeks of the rotation being pretty much the worst in baseball, these are the AL rankings since April 12 for top rotation ERAs.

  1. Red Sox – 3.29
  2. Yankees – 3.56
  3. Rays – 3.76
  4. Astros – 3.86

David Price, the Ace of the 2019 Sox, takes the mound in Guaranteed Rate Field (not a fan of new name). In Price’s first two starts of the season, he did actually pitch better than what the final out come ended up being (8 ER in 12 innings). Since then it’s been all systems go as he has only given up 4 ER in the last 18 innings pitched (2.00 ERA).

Price looks to will the team to their fourth win in a row, which would be a season high. And it would put them at two games below .500…. the last time they were two games under .500, was on March 31 in Seattle.

Lucas Giolito takes the ball for the White Sox in what could be a favorable matchup for the Sox lineup. Giolito thus far hasn’t panned out for the White Sox when acquired in the Adam Eaton trade. Aside from a seven start stretch in 2017 where he posted a 2.38 ERA, he had a downright ugly 6.13 ERA in 32 starts last season. In those 173.1 innings, he gave up 27 HRS and walked NINETY. This season has had carry-over, as he wears a 5.30 ERA in four starts.

Batter up?
