While the Bruins nailed down a 3-2 series lead, the Red Sox were having fireworks of their own. Manny Banuelos (former top Yankees prospect) retired the first eight Sox batters as his team held a 1-0 lead…. Then wheels came out from under him & Rick Renteria, as he served up ten consecutive hits. It was 9-1 by time E-Rod took the mound again. The Sox offense scored six more runs in their biggest offensive output of the yr. Just like that, Chavis is getting Rookie of the Year mentions.

Rodriguez even with long waits in between innings, still supplied a solid start. Over six innings he allowed just the one run, and struck out six batters. In his first two starts of 2019, he gave up six runs apiece… In his last three starts, he has given up six runs total.

Dylan Covey takes the ball for the White Sox. Covey is coming of the Injured List, last having pitched on April 1. The first 47 games in the majors hasn’t been too kind to Covey.

47 games (33 starts)

(5-22, 6.11 ERA) (1.56 WHIP) (.282 opp avg)

193 innings, 214 Hits, 143 Runs (131 ER), 33 HRs, 132 Ks, 88 Walks

“Because baseball”, he has thrown nine shutout innings in his time vs the Sox lineup. Good bet he was biting his fingernail last night watching the 15 Run onslaught. He has to be hoping that the bats got tuckered out.
