In an unfortunate turn of events, Price appears headed to the IL.
The Red Sox have been on a tear after sweeping the Oakland Athletics and taking 3 of 4 from the Chicago White Sox, but it appears the injury bug is showing its ugly head. While Nathan Eovaldi is on the injured list already, David Price will be joining his teammate shortly.

Despite only having one win on the young season, Price has been a bright spot for the Red Sox while posting a 3.75 ERA. As has been the case for most Boston pitchers, Price has shaken off the early season rust and has been a valuable top of the rotation starter for the defending World Series champions.
At this point, the Red Sox will look to piece together a rotation that already includes long-relief man, Hector Velazquez and occasionally Marcus Walden. In a retroactive move, the Sox have recalled Ryan Weber from Pawtucket.
Weber has posted an ERA over 5 through five starts with the AAA Pawtucket club.
It’s a bit surprising that the Red Sox are opposed to adding the younger options of Mike Shawaryn, or Darwinzon Hernandez, but a move like this suggests that Price will only be on the shelf for a short amount of time.
