Facing the Blue Jays notwithstanding, the Sox did have a good week as they have rattled off four wins in their last five game. That includes this past Sunday’s win against these same Astros they are facing tonight. For the AL in 2019, only the Astros, Rangers and Twins have scored more Runs than the Sox. While Chavis and Devers have been carrying the offense the past month, it was very encouraging to see JBJ and Steve Pearce’s bats busting out this week.

Chris Sale takes the mound for the Red Sox. Starting his eleventh game of the season, he is still looking for his 2nd Win of the season. The month of May has been a solid one, pitching to a 2.05 ERA in four starts and having 51 Ks in 26.1 innings. Coupled with bad luck, the W is elusive for him in 2019.

Wade Miley takes the ball for the Astros. His 2nd start against the Sox in the past six days, the bats hope to bring out the Miley of old that they’ve faced before. On Sunday he was only able to last five innings as gave up 3 Runs (2 ER). The first four innings had him cruising, but a fifth inning rally got the game tied. Two innings later Bogaerts got the go ahead game winning RBI, which led to the Astros leaving Boston without a sweep.
