6/19 Pitchers Vs Hitters Matchups: Tired Sox Look to Win Series

After a grueling 17 inning loss, the Red Sox to regroup from quite the taxing night. They were with a six game winning streak… but hit a brick wall. Price had a solid five inning one run start. But he was pulled after just 73 pitches. Unbeknownst to Cora, the bullpen would go on to pitch the next 11.1 innings, while blowing the lead two times.

The offense also failed. They collected twenty baserunners, TWENTY, and scored just three runs. The lineup went 1 for 13 with risp. The batter that had the worst night was J.D. Martinez. His stat line was an ugly 0 for 8, with five strikeouts. The last K and most egregious was top of the 17th inning… Benitendi on 3rd, no outs.

Eduardo Rodriguez takes the mound for the Red Sox.

Kyle Gibson takes the mound for the Twins.
