Just two days ago, Buster Olney pretty much put it in permanent ink that the Sox were going to get a reliever. Today saw 4pm come & go, as the Red Sox ended up staying pat while all the other AL contending teams (minus Yankees), improved themselves. Dombrowski had several head scratching quotes. He implied that because you’re not getting the division, there’s no need to improve anyway (2004 says hello). Then he had the gall to say “You wouldn’t believe how many clubs called about our relievers”. It’s better to not say anything, than throw out that quote.

The Sox still have six games left of the 14 game stretch vs Tampa Bay and NY, currently standing at 5-3. Time to rebound from the bad start by Price, another blown lead by the bullpen and the offense failing on RISP opportunity after RISP opportunity.
