It seemed like it would be heading this way.

Andrew Cashner‘s time in Boston could be going better, to say the least. Cashner has made six starts and has gone 1-and-4 in those games. In 30.1 innings pitched, the Red Sox’ sole 2019 trade deadline acquisition has a 8.01 ERA. So yeah, things could be going better.

Cashner’s last couple of starts have been horrendous, forcing the Red Sox to change his role. With the Red Sox bullpen lacking depth, manager Alex Cora has decided that Andrew Cashner’s stuff will play better out of the bullpen rather than starting games.

Cashner was scheduled to start on Wednesday, so the starting pitcher for that game is TBD.
