Well, that was short-lived.
Alex Cora announced Tuesday afternoon that Nathan Eovaldi will be headed back to the starting rotation after serving as the team’s “opener” on Wednesday.
It looks as if it was headed this direction. I tweeted the other day that it was time for Eovaldi to return back to the Red Sox’ starting rotation after the removal of Andrew Cashner from the rotation.
Eovaldi really hasn’t pitched well as a reliever since the team decided to use name him the closer. He actually never recorded a save or pitched in the ninth inning for the Red Sox.
Maybe this transition will be good for Nasty Nate. Like I tweeted, starting games will give him the chance to get back in his groove and this team could certainly use good starts out of Eovaldi down this crucial stretch of the season.
