It’s do or die time these next seven games, coming against two of the powerhouses of MLB this season. When this stretch is over, we could be keeping our eyes on the scoreboards & standing…. or accepting that the playoff dreams are said & done, and put focus on the offseason ahead.

Rick Porcello takes the mound for the Red Sox. While his goal is to naturally keep helping his team win some games, his mind is also on his last chance for a big payday in his playing days. On the year his ERA sits up high at 5.42, but just had a respectable month of August (4.00 ERA in 5 starts). Weird to think that it’s been practically three months since his last start of more than six innings. And that start actually came against these Twins, a seven inning shutout performance.

Making his first career start, Randy Dobnak takes the ball for the Twins. Dobnak has pitched eight innings of relief thus far, allowing just two unearned runs. But a bit of a Houdini act, as he has given up 13 Hits (opp .351 avg). If the hit parade continues, will the Sox offense make him pay for putting that many men on base?

First Pitch – 7:10pm ET !!!
